Description
IntegraRack IR-05 Ballast System (5° Fixed) – Case Quantity (20 Count)
*SOLAR PANEL CLAMPS NOT INCLUDED
The IR-05 Ballast System is one of the fastest, strongest, and most cost effective on the market, and offers multiple mounting methods to ensure that the same part can be used for any job. Each IR-05 Bracket is built from a solid piece of aluminum and designed with versatility in mind, such as an integrated tube handle and micro-inverter mounting points built into each bracket. Each panel can be mounted with just two IR-05 mounts (two extra will be required to start each row of panels) and four IR-F2 Flange Clamp Bonding Brackets (Sold separately).
*Some photos may show old style IR-05 that uses the IntegraRack IR-F1 for solar panel mounting. Please refer to the main product image for an accurate depiction of what product you are getting with your order.
How many do I need?
IR-05: ((Number of Solar Panels) + (Number of Rows)) * 2 = (Mounts Needed)
EXAMPLE: 20 solar panels in two rows of ten = (44) IR-05 Mounts
IR-F2: (Number of Solar Panels) * 4 = (Clamps Needed)
EXAMPLE: 20 solar panels = (80) IR-F2 Clamps
– Lightning Fast Assembly & Installation
The IntegraRack IR-05 is one of the fastest, strongest, and most cost effective flat roof ballast systems on the market. Each base system can be assembled in less than 30 seconds, and modules can be mounted in under a minute, for a total install time of 5 minutes per module!
– Strong, Easy Carry Design
The IR-05 is designed to clamp around a standard cinder block (4″ x 8″ x 16″) to provide 32lbs of weight and the integrated handle allows one person to carry and place multiple base systems with weight without the fatigue caused by other ballasted basket type systems. Capable of holding up to 700 Watt Solar Modules and equipped with Micro-Inverter/Solar Optimizer Mounting Points.
– Multiple Mounting Methods
If the roof structure cannot support the weight of a ballasted system, the IR-05 can still be used as it is capable of being mounted multiple ways. For adhesive mounting, IntegraRack’s recommended high-strength tested polyurethane adhesive (Bostik 915FS™ Fast Setting Hurricane Strength Polyurethane) can be applied to the bottom surface of the bracket for up to 200lbs of uplift per IR-05 Bracket. This mount also has openings on the bottom surface that allow for deck mounting though it is still recommended to use the adhesive with this method for maximum leak resistance.
– Easy Module Mounting
Each IR-05 has folding tabs on each side that can be folded down to create a shelf for the solar panel to rest on before mounting. Once the panel is in place, it can be attached to the mount using IntegraRack’s IR-F2 Clamps which slide easily into the slot at the top of the mount (Click the “Manufacturers Resources” link below for install instructions and additional resources).
– Bend Tab Shelf
With the bend tabs at the top of each IR-05, mounting solar panels is easier than ever. This design allows one person to set the panel into position and mount it without straining themselves. This leads to much faster and easier installations and maintenance.
– UL 2703
This product conforms to UL 2703 Mechanical and Bonding requirements.

Mounting
Mounting Requirements
- (2) IR-05 Brackets are required per module after the starter row ((2) extra IR-05 Brackets will be required at the end of each row).
- For high wind areas, additional IR-05 Brackets can be mounted against the end module that will catch the most wind.
- (6) IR-F1 Rail-Less Module Flange Clamp & Bonding Brackets will be required per module (Sold separately)
Ballasted Install
Each IR-05 is designed to clamp around a standard cinder block to provide weight for the system.
- Each IR-05 Bracket is capable of clamping around a 32lbs cinder block (4″ x 8″ 16″) for best fitment and sufficient weight.
- The structural bends of the IR-05 are designed to keep the cinder block 1/4″ above the roof surface.
- Most roof manufacturers require that a slip mat be placed between any ballast system and the roof surface.
Adhesive Install
If roof structure cannot support the weight of a ballasted system, each IR-05 can be mounted using nothing but a high-strength polyurethane adhesive for up to 200lbs of uplift per bracket, while maintaining non-invasive mounting.
- Approximately (1) tube of IntegraRack’s recommended high-strength tested adhesive (Bostik 915FS™ Hurricane Strength Polyurethane Adhesive) will be required for every (10) IR-05 Brackets (Adhesive sold separately).
- Polyurethane adhesive requires 24-48 hours to set up depending on climate conditions.
Deck Mounting Install
For the most secure mounting each IR-05 can be deck mounted to the roof. Before using deck mounting bolts, Adhesive Install must be done first to maintain a watertight seal.
- (4) IR Deck Mounting Bolts with EPDM Sealing Washers will be required per IR-05 Bracket.
- Each IR-05 has five openings on the bottom surface. The four outer openings are for the deck mounting bolts, while the middle opening is for visual inspection of the adhesive to ensure proper tension has been applied.
