Description
IntegraRack IR-EW15 BallastRack East/West 15° Fixed Angle Double Solar Panel Rack (Single Frame)
The IR-EW15 BallastRack is constructed from aircraft grade aluminum and is capable of racking twice as many panels per frame with one panel facing East and one panel facing West, making this the most cost effective BallastRack model per kW, with savings on both materials and labor.
This system is designed to work with large commercial solar panels (450-900 Watts) and they must be at least 64″ long. The East/West orientation requires almost no spacing between rows and allows you to maximize your ground coverage to fully utilize the benefits of this orientation.
East/West systems deployed in southern parts of the United States will see extended hours of solar energy production and substantially higher energy production on cloudy days compared to higher angle South-facing rack systems.
This system includes coastal rated 100% stainless steel IR-F2 solar panel flange clamp bonding brackets and hardware for maximum corrosion resistance, and is rated to withstand hurricane force winds, making it the perfect solution for hurricane prone regions (See manufacturer’s Datasheets & Engineering for more detailed ratings on this product).
Notice
- Unless bolting the system directly to concrete, IntegraRack Base Tube Composite Pipes/1″ EMT (NOT included) will be required to link the frames together
- The IR-EW15 is not interchangeable with other BallastRack models unless used in different rows
How many frames do you need?
You will need one frame for every two panels, plus one extra frame to start the row.
(NUMBER OF PANELS) ÷ 2 + (ROWS OF PANELS) = (FRAMES NEEDED)
EXAMPLE: (60 PANELS) ÷ 2 + (3 ROWS of 20) = 33 Frames
– East/West Benefits
- Extended production hours throughout the day
- 20-40% better energy production on cloudy days
- Increased solar panel density with minimal row spacing required
*The benefits of the East/West orientation are greatly reduced in the Northern United States
– Coastal Rated Materials
- This racking system is made entirely from aircraft grade aluminum
- The hardware is made from 100% stainless steel
– Double Solar Panel Rack
- Each frame holds 2 solar panels, making this the most cost effective BallastRack model available
– Fast Assembly & Install
- 3 minute assembly per frame
- Installation as fast as 10 minutes per solar panel
- No earth augers, no concrete, and no post ponding required
– No Building Permit Required
When installing this system, a building permit is typically not required (see documentation)
– Universal Mounting
3 Mounting Options (Click links to view more information):
- IR EarthBallast™ Kit – Uses fast setting epoxy to adhere geotextile material to the IR-EW15 frames and earth fill over for a fast ballasted system
- IR EarthScrew™ Kit – Uses 30″ long specially designed earth screws to anchor the frames to the ground, the frames can then clamp onto the shaft of the screws for easy leveling and incredible uplift strength
- IR SlabBallast™ Kit – Bolt the IR-40FSAC frames directly to any concrete surface (concrete pad, footings, or patios)
– Most Cost Effective BallastRack
- The lowest cost per Watt BallastRack model with the ability to rack 2 solar panels with each frame
- Traditional ground mount solar racking systems take 6x longer to install and are much more labor intensive
- Capable of racking 450-900W commercial solar panels (Minimum Length: 64″)
– High-Strength Engineered & Tested
- Capable of withstanding hurricane strength winds of up to 180 mph (see the manufacturer’s Stamped Engineering & Datasheets for more info)
- Extensively engineered and outdoor lab tested with simulated real world wind and snow load conditions
- Built from high-strength aircraft grade aluminum with a fully boxed tube design, this rack is lightweight and incredibly strong
